This Easter weekend will be the first ever ‘Nose-to-Tail’ festival at The Lower Red Lion. The idea is to test the theory that you can eat every part of a pig, other than its squeak. To compliment our dishes what better than a fantastic range of ciders, both local and from further afield? The weekend will be carried out over three consecutive days, starting on Saturday 19th and rounding off with live music and a hog roast on Easter Monday. There will not only be a selection of dishes from the pig but also a range of pork based snacks, including rare breed pork pies, a variety of sausage rolls and spicy sausage swirls from our friends at Samphire shop in Norfolk. We will be making our own recipe sausages up at A&C Meats on Catherine Street under the watchful eye of Carl. Even though the festival falls on a Sunday, fear not roast lovers, we will still be serving our Sunday Roasts as normal. We’re also going to be hosting a mini street speciality fare on Easter Monday, with market stalls from local producers and suppliers. So make sure you keep the weekend free and we hope to see you all there!
